AMD Ships 96-Core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX for Workstations

Today, AMD officially released its flagship Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX, the first workstation CPU to boast 96 cores and 192 threads. Built on the Zen 5 “Shimada Peak” architecture, this powerhouse delivers up to 5.4 GHz boost clocks, backed by a massive 384 MB L3 cache and a 350 W TDP, making it ideal for heavy-duty tasks like 3D rendering, scientific simulations, and AI training Compatibility with existing sTR5 motherboards (via BIOS update) means studios can upgrade without a full platform overhaul. While AMD hasn’t announced street pricing yet, expectations place it in the $4,999 range. With this launch, AMD sets a new bar for pro-grade performance and scalability.
